Okay, so these very well MAY have belonged to someone’s grandma, BUT they don’t look like it anymore! Unless it is a young, hip grandma, which many grandma’s are nowadays! (no need to send hate mail!) ;)
This set of 4 chairs are antique Victorian balloon back chairs. They probably date back to the early 1900′s or even late 1800′s if that means anything to you. They had the original needlepoint seats still on as you can see:
Before you become impressed correct me on any info of the antique fashion, let me say this is all by my researching online and not actual Antique Roadshow skills.
Anyhow, this post is to show what they look like POST early 1900′s…. They are now adorned in a nice shade of blue-gray paint in the chippiest of distressing style! Hand sealed in wax, and seats covered in natural covered burlap. Very french country…. and though they looked to be a lovely mahogany wood, I am happy to see them as they are now.

Hope you like! Check them out on the “currently for sale” page if you are local and interested.
Hope everyone has a GREAT 4th of July…. aka, LOVE my country day! Hope you spend it with grilled burgers and friends
