a little birdie told me…

It’s been awhile since I have done a little “bird” dresser, so I added one to this adorable little vintage piece. It’s painted a very light turquoise color in chippy/ distressed style. It is not big, but sometimes that makes a dresser more versatile. It could go in a child’s room, or use it in a bathroom for linen storage, or if you have a smaller bedroom, that only uses one nightstand it could serve as that just perfectly :) Of course it could also work as a TV stand. A lot of charm in a little piece!

It has been added to the “currently for sale” page for more info.
Also, in the next few days, I have a piece that I will be working on… and I wish I had taken a before pic, because I’m taking suggestions! It is an older (possibly antique) wooden chifferobe/armoire. Perfect for a nursery. It has legs, and a rounded top, but the front is mostly plain and flat, so maybe paint something special on it? Or just keep it a color and distress? What would you like to see on a sweet little armoire for a nursery or little girl?
Not as much painting/ taking pictures time left in my day now with it dark so early……

Everyone enjoy your week!

Trip to the Mall and a Springtime Dresser

Happy Friday all!
Sure, I work from home, and make my own hours, but who doesn’t love a friday? Yesterday, my husband and I took the baby to the grand re- opening of the Opry Mills Mall in Nashville. It has been closed for two years since the flood here in Nashville, and we couldn’t have been more excited to see it re-opening! If you don’t live in Nashville, and ever come to visit, make sure to add it to the list of things to visit, it is huge (though not as huge as the Opryland hotel, which is also amazing to walk around). The energy was so fun… you could really feel people’s excitement after two years of waiting.
Here is a quick picture (forgive my appearance, it was early, and we wanted to hurry up and get there and not miss out) that my husband took with his cell phone of us walking into the new “Forever 21″ store as they had just lifted the door:
This store is one of my favorite “girly” indulgences. They made it much bigger than it was before. It was HUGE. Just to give you a little idea, the size of the Forever 21 at the Mall of America in Minneapolis (definitely the biggest mall I have ever been to) is 32,000 sq. ft. Oh, I how I love that mall… no tax you know? I get to visit it every time I go with my husband to Minnesota to visit (he is from there). Anyway, getting back to my point…. .the new Forever 21 in the Opry Mills mall is 60,000 sq. ft.!!! What in the world!! I may or may not have lost my husband and son, while recklessly throwing caution to the wind to dash through isle after isle of beautiful new full racks.
That store took up a lot of my time, so we are going to have to make a trip back to see some of the others, like a new Disney store, and Lego store. I’m sure with the little boy in my life there will be many future visits there…. They had artists performing (it is Nashville) and there were some fun free promotions going on too! We got the cutest ever free teddy bear from Vanity Fair. And we got a free bag for frozen items from grabbing some frozen yogurt at Sweet CeCe’s. Mmmmm, just love that place. If you have not checked them out yet, you MUST this season:
I like the cake batter and raspberry flavors myself.
I will show you my freebies just for fun :)
With all the fun yesterday, I did happen to upload some new pretty furniture on the “Currently for Sale” page, so go check them out! One featuring a pretty little grey springtime bird on a very chippy white dresser.

Enjoy your weekend everyone!
