So, our yorkie used to sleep in bed with us, go on road trips with us, get lots of baths, yeah, she had the life. But don’t feel too bad for her, she still has it made sleeping around all day, getting her organic food and she’s still quick enough to outrun the baby in his walker (for now) . And after all, if she had been totally forgotten about, I wouldn’t be writing this 
We have always had a dog “bed” for her. It’s a cushiony thing I think I got at TJ Maxx years ago. The problem with it is, even though it is a little rubbery on the bottom, it moves all around on the floor, and I end up tripping on it, since it is near my side of the bed. So, if you have the same problem, or just think this is cute, here is the tutorial on your very own “desk drawer dog bed” :

- start out with an empty drawer you don’t want anymore. this came from a free rolltop desk i was going to refinish, but was in too bad of condition (and it takes a lot for me to give up). but the drawers were fine. i used the others for organizing my paint supplies in the garage.

- first i painted and distressed the drawer. then, i cleaned the inside, but it was still grungy, so i found some cute flowery rubber drawer liner and cut it to fit. you could use the peel and stick kind too.

- if you want your liner to REALLY stay put spray some spray adhesion. then add whatever decoarative knobs you want, or leave them off.

- then put in something “cushy.” if you don’t already have a dog bed that fits the drawer, be creative. you could cut up and sew the edges of an old comforter, or even use a tie on cusion used for dining chairs.

- i stenciled her name on the side. but the possibilities are endless. paint whatever you want, or use a hot glue gun to add things on (as long as you don’t have a chewer)
